Collaborating from a distance

Connection is an important part of making music. When lockdown began, I knew one of the biggest impacts for myself would be a lack of making music with others. So, I’ve been finding ways around it. We all know by now that music over the internet in real time does not work (oh the lag, why so much lag?) but there are still lots of creative ways to collaborate.

Here are some of the things I’ve been up to:

amid the waves – in collaboration with Christine Adams

I also took part in Nonsense Note, a project exploring how different musicians react to the same graphic score.

I hope you’re also finding things that keep your creativity flowing, whether that’s a large project or something small. If you know of any collaborative projects looking for composers/sound artists, let me know!
