Composing with gloves on | WIP Wednesday

As anyone who lives in the UK will know, this week was cold. The joys of working from home and not being able to afford the heating all day long led to this ridiculous situation:


In that picture, I’m working on a piece for Crystal Chords. Usually when I’m writing something for voice, I find the words to set to music. However, this time I’m composing the music and then sending it to the lyricist so she can write something inspired by the music. It’s a much more collaborative approach and I’m really enjoying it.

My other WIP currently is this:


Yes, right now it just looks like a bunch of Cs! But I have plans to experiment with the creation of this score, so you’ll just have to wait and see how it develops!
